The growth of 2013 has exposed:
- The need for Hug a Baby to have a more secure product supply.
- The possibility of continued expansion into other hospitals without over reaching our resources.
- The need to seek a level of local financial security with an eventual lower dependence upon external funding, even self sufficiency.
- Review the opportunity to create employment for the disadvantaged women.
Given that Hug a Baby creates no revenue stream of its own, self-sufficiency may seem just a dream but we have a plan!
The story of 2014 will be the unrolling and establishing of this plan. It involves the empowerment of disadvantaged women on the farms. This proposal, together with managing of what we have today will mean 2014 will be a seminal year for Hug a Baby, changing its structure and expanding its field of influence far wider than originally envisaged.
It will be challenging and exciting so watch this space for further news!
